A former Stegner Fellow at Stanford University and a graduate of the University of Oregon Creative Writing Program\, he is a recipient of a Whiting Writer\'s Award\, a National Magazine Award nomination\, and fellowships from the University of Wisconsin\, the MacDowell Colony\, Yaddo\, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Born in the Philippines\, he currently lives in San Francisco\, and is an Associate Professor at Saint Mary’s College of California. The author will be available to sign books after the reading.
