She is also the author of Veronica (nominated for the National Book Award), Because They Wanted To (nominated for a PEN/Faulkner Award), Bad Behavior, and the novel UMMA is pleased to be the site for the Department of English Program in Creative Writing Zell Visiting Writers Series, which brings outstanding writers each semester.
