Programs and Tours
Wells Tower’s short stories and journalism have appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s Magazine, McSweeney’s, The Paris Review, The Anchor Book of New American Short Stories, The Washington Post Magazine, and elsewhere. He received two Pushcart Prizes and the Plimpton Prize from The Paris Review, and he was named one of The New Yorker’s “20 Under 40” in 2010. He divides his time between Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Brooklyn, New York. The author will be available to sign books after the reading. As always, books are available for purchase in the Museum Store.
UMMA is pleased to be the site for the Department of English Program in Creative Writing Zell Visiting Writers Series, which brings outstanding writers each semester. This exciting performance series falls on the third Thursday of each month and features student performers who work in a variety of media, including music, comedy, and spoken word. It’s a great way to spend an evening with your friends and to experience the exceptional talent of UM students. This series is curated and produced by UMMA’s Student Programming and Advisory Board.
