UMMA's award-winning docents will guide visitors to experience art through active looking at selected highlights of the collections. Expect a lively and engaging conversation on a different theme each week. Selections from "Multiple Impressions: Contemporary Chinese Woodblock Prints" will be included during the run of that exhibition.

Join a docent tour of Multiple Impressions, the largest and most diverse exhibition of contemporary Chinese prints to be seen in the US since 2000. Learn about the diversity of the contemporary art world in China and the fascinating techniques used to make these works.

This conversation will explore two community-based projects involving the development of museums or cultural centers, one in Ghana and the other in Detroit. The presenters will discuss these community collaborations and the complexities and ambiguities of the citizens working on these projects who have differing visions for a community-based museum.
