MothUP Ann Arbor: Student Story Slam

Do you have an idea for a great story? The MothUP Student Story Slam is the place to share it. The theme for the evening is “Out of the Ordinary,” and was inspired by UMMA’s current exhibition, “Out of the Ordinary: Selections from the Bohlen Wood Art and Fusfeld Folk Art Collections,” on view through June 26, 2011. Here is how the story slam works: those in attendance are invited to put their names in a hat to be randomly selected to tell a story inspired by the evening’s theme. Throughout the evening, MothUP members will pull the names of 10 volunteer storytellers from the audience. Stories must be no longer than 5 minutes, told live and without notes. Have questions? What to volunteer? Send thoughts and questions to MothUP Ann Arbor is a student run organization that puts together live storytelling events inspired by The Moth (

This event is cosponsored by UMMA’s Student Programming and Advisory Board.
