Programs and ToursWorld AIDS Day: Arts on Screen ProjectPoetry, visual art, and facts about the current state of AIDS combine in a silent film that will be projected from UMMA's Commons from December 1 through December 5. The film will be visible from the Diag pedestrian walkways behind the Museum. All of the visual art shown in the film comes from UMMA's collections and was created by artists suffering from HIV/AIDS or in response to loss endured as a result of the disease. The film offers a space for viewers to consider those in our community and around the world who have died from or are still living with HIV/AIDS today. The film also celebrates these artists and their contributions to the contemporary conversation about this devastating disease.
