Programs and ToursMarilyn Hacker Marilyn Hacker is the author of twelve books of poems, including Names, Essays on Departure, and Desesperanto. Her ten volumes of translations from the French include Hédi Kaddour's Treason, recipient of a French Voices translation award from the Services Culturels of the French Embassy, Marie Etienne's King of a Hundred Horsemen, which received the 2009 American PEN Award for Poetry in Translation, and Vénus Khoury-Ghata's Nettles. She is a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets.UMMA is pleased to be the site for the Department of English Program in Creative Writing Zell Visiting Writers Series, which brings outstanding writers each semester.
