Susanna Moore was born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Hawaii. She is the author of the novels The Big Girls, One Last Look, In the Cut (adapted into a film starring Mark Ruffalo and Meg Ryan), Sleeping Beauties, The Whiteness of Bones, and My Old Sweetheart, and two books of nonfiction, Light Years: A Girlhood in Hawaii and I Myself Have Seen It: The Myth of Hawaii. My Old Sweetheart earned Susanna a PEN Hemingway Citation and the Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Her other awards include the Academy Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters (1999). She received fellowships from the American Academy in Berlin (2006) and the Asian Cultural Council (2007), and has been a visiting lecturer at Yale University, New York University Graduate School and, most recently, Princeton University. She lives in New York City.
The author will be available to sign books after the reading. As always, books will be available for purchase on site.
