Programs and ToursLecture by Arjia RinpocheArjia Rinpoche is the former abbot of one of the most famous monasteries in Tibet and a frequent lecturer on Tibetan art. In this lecture in conjunction with the UMMA exhibition Buddhist Thangkas and Treasures: The Walter Koelz Collection, Museum of Anthropology (on view February 23 through June 9, 2013), he will discuss the important role that art plays in the practice of Tibetan Buddhism. The lecture will follow a brief blessing ceremony in the UMMA Apse at 5 pm. The exhibition Buddhist Thangkas and Treasures: The Walter Koelz Collection, Museum of Anthropology is part of the UM Collections Collaborations series, co-organized by and presented at UMMA and designed to showcase the renowned and diverse collections at the University of Michigan.
